Annie Alley told an anecdote that one time during the Spring she couldn't remember what year, the horse May Ann got really sick and couldn't even stand up. A vet told the family that a vaporizer would help and Annie let them borrow hers. It helped tremendously and the next day the horse was able to stand again. Both of the horses were retired race horses and when they came to the island in the 1930's it was the first time either of them had been near or seen cars. Both horses are buried on the right side of The Point across from the apple trees.
