William Kienbusch, a Retrospective Exhibition 1946-1979, published by Farnsworth Art Museum, Rockland Maine, 1996, William Kienbusch first painted in Maine in 1934, eventually taking up residence on Great Cranberry Isle in 1962. Born in New York City, and a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Princeton University, he studied at the Art Students League in New York with Raphael Soyer and John. Kienbusch lived across from the tennis courts on GCI. He is Carl Little's uncle.

Volume 1: Little Cranberry Island, Maine, 325 pages. Volume 2: Great Cranberry Island, Maine, 214 pages. Volume 3: Mount Desert Island, Maine, 170 pages. Volume 4: Swans Island, Maine, 137 pages. Photocopies of extensive genealogical records of the Stanley family and their collaterals compiled by William Otis Sawtelle, with a 13-page introduction and index by Hugh Dwelley in 1996. Dwelley states: "This extensive genealogical record of the Stanley family is written largely in the hand of Professor William Otis Sawtelle. It appears to have been prepared mostly during the first decade of the 20th century. Notes such as "Living in ____1906", etc. appear on several of the records. There is a little data from 1920s and later, but it has usually been added in another hand. Professor Sawtelle fell ill in 1936 and died in 1939." An obituary for Ida Spurling. This article says "Ida M. Spurling, 95, died April 5, 1994, at a Mount Desert Island health-care facility. She was born Sept. 20, 1998, in Jonesport, the daughter of James and Esther (Bagley) Bagley. She was a 1918 graduate of Jonesport High School. Ida is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, Harry Spurling of Southwest Harbor and Islesford: Tow daughters and one son-in-law, Marion Dawes of Southwest Harbor and Isabelle and Welch Forbis of Spring Hill, Fla.; five granddaughters, seven great grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sisters, Edna Alley and Ethel Bagley; and one brother, Lloyd Bagley. Graveside funeral services will be held 10a.m Friday at Sand Beach Cemetery, Islesford. Friends who wish may make gifts in Ida's memory to the Neighborhood House, Isleford, in care of Karen Fernald, Islesford. The ferry leaves Northeast Harbor at 9:10 a.m Friday. Arrangements By Fernald Funeral Chapel, Mount Desert."
